Billing Analyst

Job summary 
The core function of this role is to review/research all claims for accuracy prior to claim submission. Within compliance guidelines, the Insurance Billing analyst updates claims or works with the necessary department to minimize denials, pricing discrepancies, charge issues, and demographic information concerns.

Primary duties and responsibilities 
Responsible for high volume, non-specialized billing/edit resolution.
Prepares insurance claims for submission to all third party payers and/or responsible parties.
Reviews claims for accuracy, including proper diagnosis and procedure codes.
Ensures appropriate review of bills and statements before sending out to insurance companies to reduce risks of denial.
Ensures the compliance of billing in accordance with the CCAD and UAE insurance regulations.
Recognizes and resolves billing or coding inconsistencies. Uses clinical and coding knowledge to ensure accurate and compliant charge items.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills

Experience requirements 
Minimum of one (1) year billing experience is required, patient accounting billing system experience is preferred
Knowledge and understanding of patient accounts management, including insurance processing and cash application
Proficient with pcs, spreadsheets and other software applications
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to speak and write in English is required.
Health care industry experience is preferred.

Education requirements 
Associate’s Degree in Healthcare related field is required.

Physical demands and work environment 
Typical physical demands include a moderate degree of dexterity to produce materials on a computer and mobility sufficient to attend meetings in departments throughout CCAD.
